The Asheville Moonshiners pinned a convincing loss on the Montreal Mounties, 9-2, at The Still. Corban Gravari was a main factor in the win. He went 4 for 4 with a double and 3 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for Asheville. Jeff Agin, the winning pitcher, is now 8-9. He went 7 innings, allowing 1 run on 7 hits, while fanning 6 and walking 3. Steve Blaire, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 2nd save.

Bryan Criner took Montreal hurler Evan Tedford deep in the bottom of the fifth. His 2-run home run put the Moonshiners on top, 3-1. In all, Criner had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.

"The effort wasn't good enough," said losing manager Julián Martínez.

The Moonshiners are now 44-47, while the Mounties fall to 53-37.
