The Walnut Creek Warriors faced a tough opponent in Bighorn pitcher Jeremy Turner, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Ram Brewery Ballpark by a final score of 6-3. Turner went 5 innings and allowed 2 runs. Reliever Joe Keefer picked up the win. His record improves to 2-0. Ruben Rodriguez took the loss. Russ Gilleo got the save, his 19th in 23 chances.

Walnut Creek used the timely hitting of Bobby Harper to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Warriors on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I felt good up there," said Harper. "I saw the ball well."

Walnut Creek leads the Thurman Munson League West Division by 7 games.
