Milwaukee Gets 8-7 Win
|
The Milwaukee Millers outlasted Brent Alexander and the Huntington Station Ramrods, 8-7. Alexander was impressive in the loss. The Huntington Station center fielder went 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs. Alex Solis earned the win for Milwaukee. He lasted 5.1 innings, allowing 4 runs on 8 hits, while striking out 0. With the win, he raised his record to 8-5. Doug Michael nailed down the save.
Milwaukee left fielder Mike Keys contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fifth. With two down, he hit a cutter to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 33rd hit of the season and put the Millers ahead, 8-1.
"It's always a heck of a lot easier to get to sleep after a win," Keys told the Milwaukee Gazette. "I know I'll rest easy tonight."
The Millers raised their record to 40-49.
