Slammers Slip Past New Jersey, 4-3
|
Joilet Slammers starter Bobby Ingersoll was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the New Jersey Jackels, 4-3. Joilet is 6th in the Frontier League Midwestern Division with a record of 21-26.
In the top of the eighth, catcher John Owens hit a 2-run single to right. The single, which was hit off of Robby Peterson, gave Joilet a 4-2 lead.
"That's the key at this level, throwing strike one," said Ingersoll. "Successful pitchers do it."
