The Walnut Creek Warriors started the Divisional Round in style, downing the visiting Bloomington Blazers at Castlerock Field by a score of 13-1 to grab an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Warriors designated hitter Bobby Harper went 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 3 and driving in 3.

Matt Saxton, who finished 4th in the TML in extra base hits with 87 last year, chipped in a 2-run home run for Walnut Creek in the bottom of the second. For the game, the right fielder had 3 hits in 5 at-bats with 2 home runs, 1 single, 3 runs scored, and 3 runs batted in.
