Miners Get One-Run Win at Trois-Rivieres
The Southern Illinois Miners topped the Trois-Rivieres Aigles by the score of 6-5, with the biggest share of the credit going to first baseman Will Holmes. Holmes went 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Miners on the day. Southern Illinois reliever Justin Nibert picked up the win, upping his record to 5-1. Ryan Fugate shouldered the loss. The 'W' lifts Southern Illinois's record to 23-22.

Holmes had a clutch at-bat in the top of the seventh for the Miners. Coming up with a runner on 1st and Southern Illinois trailing 5-4, he hit a 2-run home run.

Holmes told the Southern Illinois Times: "I don't know which I enjoy more -- being a ballplayer or the perks that come with being a ballplayer."
