Aigles Trip Crushers in Extras
|
The Aigles had to overcome a good performance from Lake Erie pitcher Jim McKenna to claim a 7-6 win at Warcats Ballpark. McKenna went 5 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. The winner was Trois-Rivieres reliever Joe Darlage, now 2-2. The loser was Jessie Shelby. Allen Dunlap earned the save, his 2nd, for the Aigles.
Flexing his muscles for Trois-Rivieres was Juan Betancur. The center fielder had a solo home run in the top of the tenth for the Aigles. It put his team ahead, 7-6, and sent them on to victory. For the game, Betancur was 1 for 5 with a home run.
"This game tested our mettle," said Betancur.
Lake Erie has now lost 4 in a row.
