Pirates Win, 10-4, at Sedona
|
The Paradise Island Pirates trumped the Sedona Sabercats, 10-4, at The Lair at Sabercat Field. Paradise Island right fielder Sean Russo was terrific. He went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Tim Fleming earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 4 innings. His record is now 1-1. The Pirates, at 109-53, lead by one game in their division.
Paradise Island used the hitting of Gerardo Castillo to pick up the win. The catcher clubbed a grand slam home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Pirates on top, 7-0. For the game, Castillo had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Solid performance from our side," said Pirates manager Jorge Ávila.
