Sussex County turned a good effort from starter John Winge into a win over the Gateway Grizzlies at Rebels Ballpark. The final score was 2-1. Jimmy Curtis picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-1. Ray Volin was tagged with the loss. The Miners improved to 17-23.

Sussex County used the bat of Devin Hawthorne to capture the win. The shortstop jacked a solo home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the Miners ahead, 2-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a dandy.

"I just trusted my stuff," said Winge.
