Despite a fine performance by designated hitter Aaron Hayes, the Evansville Otters suffered a 7-5 loss to the Windy City ThunderBolts. Hayes was 2 for 5 with 2 home runs. The winner was Windy City reliever Ed Pippy, now 3-2. The loser was Jim Sheets. Jaquan Steed closed the game out for Windy City, earning his 7th save.

Windy City center fielder Eric Lessard contributed to the cause with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the third. For the game, Lessard was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Lessard told the Windy City Today.

The second-place ThunderBolts are now 22-15, the Otters 19-18.
