Close Win Moves Rangers to 90-70
|
Jordan Tovar put on a pitching clinic, while helping the Carrollton Rangers beat the Syracuse Orange Sox, 2-1. The Rangers have now reeled off 9 straight wins.
The Rangers got a big at-bat from first baseman Bill Gibson. For the game, Gibson was 1-3 with a home run. In the bottom of the fifth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 13th home run of the season gave Carrollton a 2-1 lead.
"Jordan can pitch. He moves the ball around," said Carrollton manager Hung-chang Chao.
