The Florence Y'alls topped the Lake Erie Crushers, 9-2, with youngster Tony Thomas playing a key role. Thomas hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2 for the Y'alls in the win. Andrew Lovings earned the win for Florence. He lasted 6 innings, allowing no earned runs on 2 hits, while striking out 10. With the win, he raised his record to 3-3. The Y'alls saw their win-loss record go to 20-14. At the same time, the Crushers fell to 11-23.

The Y'alls got an important contribution from first baseman Mike Potter, who in the bottom of the second punched a 0-1 fastball into left for a bases-clearing double. It was his 10th double of the season and put the Y'alls ahead, 4-0.

"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Florence manager Ruben Lampman.
