Aigles Come Up Short at Sussex County
|
The Sussex County Miners had to overcome a big game from Trois-Rivieres center fielder Juan Betancur to leave Commodores Ballpark with a 3-2 victory. Betancur was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Today's win puts Sussex County at 15-21, while Trois-Rivieres falls to 24-12.
There were several reasons the Miners beat the Aigles, but one factor was Jose Tapia. In the bottom of the seventh, the Sussex County first baseman came to bat and hit a 2-run home run. It staked his team to a 3-2 lead.
"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Trois-Rivieres skipper Sean Laster.
