Miners Continue Skid Thanks to Riley, Aigles
|
Getting a good performance from first baseman Mike Riley, the Trois-Rivieres Aigles defeated the Sussex County Miners, 6-5. Riley hit 2 home runs. He drove in 6 runs and scored twice for the Aigles. Trois-Rivieres reliever Dave Longley picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Mike Brown absorbed the loss. Joe Darlage was called on to finish, recording his 11th save.
Riley put Trois-Rivieres up, 6-2, when he hit a 3-run home run off John Pretty in the top of the sixth. His 2nd home run of the season helped the Aigles capture the win.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Riley, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
The 6th-place Miners have lost 4 straight games.
