Aigles Turn Back Sussex County, 3-1
|
The Trois-Rivieres Aigles went home winners at Commodores Ballpark, thanks in large part to starter John Strauss. Strauss silenced the Sussex County Miners, enabling Trois-Rivieres to grab the 3-1 win. Strauss got the win, improving to 2-1. He allowed 5 hits and walked 2 over 5 innings. Strauss allowed 1 earned run. Joe Darlage finished to wrap up his 10th save.
Juan Betancur contributed a productive at-bat in the top of the third. With a runner on 1st, he hit a 2-run home run. It was one at-bat that propelled Trois-Rivieres to the win.
Betancur attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."
The Aigles now have a record of 22-11 with the win over Sussex County.
