Tight Tilt Goes to ThunderBolts, 4-3
|
ThunderBolts shortstop Mike Hughes put his stamp on his team's 4-3 win over the New York Boulders. Hughes went 3-5 with 3 singles for Windy City in the contest. Bobby Palazzolo picked up the save, his 2nd. The ThunderBolts, at 21-14, sit in first place in the Frontier League Midwestern Division.
One important at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd in the top of the seventh inning. Facing New York hurler Ray Reames, Cody Fitzgerald drew a walk. The ThunderBolts went on to win.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Windy City manager Isaiah Burchett.
