Late Rally by Otters Secures Win
|
The Evansville Otters took Schaumburg pitcher Seth Bol's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Rocketmen Ballpark. The final score had Evansville getting past the Boomers, 6-3. Bol went 6.1 innings and allowed no earned runs, striking out 6. Evansville reliever Matt Beekman picked up the win to move to 2-0. Jesse Reber suffered the loss. Colton Guest was called on to finish, recording his 7th save.
In the bottom of the eighth inning, first baseman Shane Scarpino came through big-time for the Otters. With Evansville trailing 3-1, he belted a 2-run home run.
"Today was a lot of fun," said Scarpino.
Evansville goes to 18-17, Schaumburg to 18-17.
