The Evansville Otters got a strong performance from pitcher Mike Keeney, who stymied the Florence offense en route to a 9-2 win at Rocketmen Ballpark. Keeney, the winner, moves to 1-2. He threw 5 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 11 and giving up 1 walk. Evansville now owns a record of 13-16.

One important at-bat came with a runner on 1st in the bottom of the second inning. Facing Florence hurler Bill Valentin, Matt McDonald, who is tied for 10th in the FL with a .592 slugging percentage, hit a 2-run home run. The Otters went on to win.
