Nunez reaches base 4 times, Leads Caribou to Win
|
The exploits of shortstop Edgar Nunez helped the Frobisher Bay Caribou defeat the Caribbean Commies, 6-2. Nunez was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Keiichi Ushijima, the winner, is now 10-7. He struck out 5 and walked 3 over 6.1 innings, while allowing 2 runs on 5 hits. The Caribou have an impressive 103-54 record.
Early in the game, Nunez had a 3-run home run for Frobisher Bay. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Caribou on top, 3-0.
"It was our day today," Nunez told the Frobisher Bay Herald. "But we've got to keep our nose to the grindstone."
