Tribbles Score Late to Nip Totems, 4-3
|
The Rosewell Tribbles beat the Victoria Totems by a score of 4-3. Rosewell catcher Josue Rubio deserved the lion's share of the credit. Rubio was 3-3 with 3 singles and a walk for the Tribbles. Rosewell reliever Alex Villarreal got the win, raising his record to 2-0. Oscar Vega was tagged with the loss. Jerry Nuncio was credited with the save for Rosewell, his 5th of the season.
Alberto Canto hit a run-scoring double off Oscar Vega in the bottom of the eighth, which put the Tribbles in front, 4-3. In addition to the double, Canto had 1 single and 1 walk, while going 2 for 4.
"We've got a great group of guys," Rubio said, "and we're having fun right now."
The winning continues for Rosewell, with the latest triumph making it 8 straight.
