Slammers Come Back Late to Top Y'alls
The Slammers had to overcome a fine performance from Florence pitcher Brett Wurts to grab a 6-4 win at Gunners Ballpark. Wurts allowed 1 earned run over 6 innings. Joilet reliever Dustin Troncoso picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Andy Brown was saddled with the loss. Bobby Ingersoll finished the game for Joilet and earned his 5th save.

The game was at a stalemate until first baseman Mike Rost came to bat in the top of the ninth. Facing Florence pitcher Andy Brown, he hit a first pitch fastball for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Joilet on top, 6-4.

"We believe in ourselves and we're willing to work hard. It's a good combination," Rost told the Joilet Daily News.

At 13-13, the Slammers are currently 5th in the Frontier League Midwestern Division.
