The The Stinging Larvae faced a tough opponent in Yuma pitcher Shane Stonebarger, but did just enough to pull out the victory at The Range by a final score of 3-1. Stonebarger went 9 innings and allowed 3 runs. Danny Ortega went 5 innings, allowing 1 run on 1 hit. The left-hander struck out 4 and walked 4. With the win, he ups his record to 6-17 this season. Javy Gomez earned the save for The Stinging, his 6th.
The Stinging used a clutch at-bat from Sergio Cabello to capture the win. The designated hitter hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Larvae ahead, 3-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
