Fans who gathered at Baltimore College Grounds saw a good contest between the Schaumburg Boomers and New Jersey Jackels.

The Schaumburg Boomers got a stellar performance from pitcher Brian Gilbert, who handcuffed the New Jersey offense en route to a 4-2 win at Baltimore College Grounds. Schaumburg is now riding a 3-game win streak.

Schaumburg used the timely hitting of Keith Chambers to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the fourth inning to put the Boomers on top, 4-0. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I felt we were ready to go," said Schaumburg manager Bill DesMarais. "Our pregame was pretty good."
