Crushers Lose Again, 8-1, to Miners
|
Lake Erie had no answer for Sussex County Miners hurler Mike Brown, who overwhelmed Crushers hitters as the Miners coasted to a 8-1 victory. The misery continues for the Crushers, which has now dropped 11 in a row.
The Miners got a big at-bat from second baseman Brad Meyers. For the game, Meyers went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Sussex County a 3-0 lead.
"Everyone's kind of edgy right now," said losing manager Zac Massengill, "but nothing a couple of wins wouldn't cure."
