Castro Field was the site for RCL R action featuring the Caribbean Commies and Carrollton Rangers.

With center fielder Unpei Sakamoto leading the charge, the Carrollton Rangers defeated the Caribbean Commies, 7-5, at Castro Field. Sakamoto, who is rated as the 54th best prospect by BNN, was 2-5 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. Tony Inda picked up the win, improving his season record to 3-3. He struck out 2 in 6.1 innings. Ted Owens recorded the save, his 9th.

With Carrollton leading 3-2 in the top of the sixth, Sakamoto hit a run-scoring single off Caribbean hurler Alex Castro. It was the 112nd hit of the season for Sakamoto and put his team ahead, 4-2.

"I like to keep things lively in the clubhouse," said Sakamoto. "Believe me, it's much easier after a win."

The win gives Carrollton a season record of 82-70.
