Varmits Turn Away Nutcrackers, 4-2

Tony Amaro pitched well, but the Normal Nutcrackers still lost the game, falling, 4-2, to the Yuma Varmits at The Range. The win went to Josh Maher in relief, making him now 2-0. Tony Amaro took the loss for Normal. Getting the save was Diego Alanis, his 1st.
Willie Villegas, who is tied for 9th in the TR in home runs with 24, took Normal hurler Tony Amaro deep in the bottom of the third. His 2-run home run put the Varmits on top, 4-2. In all, Villegas had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Yuma manager Vinny Aceves.
Yuma now sits at 74-77, while Normal falls to 61-91.
