Boca Raton beat Syracuse on the strength of starting pitcher Roque Figueroa's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-3. Seikichi Morinaka was the winner in relief. His record is now 4-2. The losing pitcher was Willie Salazar. The last-place Fighting Iguanas lifted their record to 51-100.

Boca Raton got a knockout punch from Santiago Gomez. The first baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

"We have a lot of confidence in Roque," said Boca Raton manager Tomohiro Harada.
