Eclipse Winners, 8-6, Over Hornets
|
Dwain Greening did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Eureka Hornets from being beaten, 8-6, to the Chicago Eclipse at Millennium Field. Greening was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 doubles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Chicago reliever Travis Wilson picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Jamie Barlow was saddled with the loss. Jason Beeks earned the save, his 3rd, for the Eclipse.
Jim Bolger, who finished 4th in the TML in triples with 9 last year, took Eureka hurler Jamie Barlow deep in the bottom of the seventh. His solo home run put the Eclipse on top, 5-4. In all, Bolger had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 2.
"Hustle and hard work is a big part of our success," said Bolger. "Those qualities define our team."
The loss drops Eureka to 5-4.
