Hawthorne Goes Off, But Y'alls Win
Devin Hawthorne had a good game, but he could not keep the Sussex County Miners from falling, 11-10, to the Florence Y'alls at Gunners Ballpark. The Sussex County shortstop belted 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice in the loss. Florence leads the Frontier League Midwestern Division by 2 games.

Mike Potter, who is tied for 8th in the FL in doubles with 6, helped out the Florence cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a 2-run double. For the game, the first baseman was 2-3 with a double and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.

"If we keep winning the close games," Potter said, "we'll be in good shape at the end."
