Y'alls Continue Hot Start to Season With Win
|
The Florence Y'alls got a magnificent performance from pitcher Andrew Lovings, who muffled the Sussex County offense en route to a tight 3-1 Y'alls win at Gunners Ballpark. Andy Brown got credit for the save for Florence. It was his 7th of the year. The Y'alls sit in first place in the Frontier League Midwestern Division with a record of 13-5.
Mike Potter had a big run-scoring single for the Y'alls in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Florence leading 2-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a sinker from John Winge and stroked the single to left. It was his 27th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Y'alls ahead, 3-1.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Potter told the Florence Today.
