It wasn't just another day at the ballpark for Mario Chaves. Chaves went on a tear and cracked hit after hit off Easton pitchers. When the dust settled on the diamond at Lightning Grove, he had a 5-for-8 line and a day he will long remember. And the Thunder Bay Lighting had a win, 22-5, over the Caterpillars.

"Yeah, it'll be something nice to tell the grandkids, but it won't get me a hit tomorrow," he joked in the postgame interview.

Mario Chaves flied out in the 1st, doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 2nd, struck out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 7th and grounded out in the 8th.

Chaves is hitting at a .289 mark this season. His stats show 12 home runs, 91 RBIs and 105 runs scored. He has played 134 games for the Lighting.
