The Montreal Cardinals had no problem beating the Wichita Storm, 18-1, at Denis Coderre Stadium. David Nieves, who is tied for 2nd in the TR in RBI with 147, led the onslaught. He went 4 for 6 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 5 runs and scored once for Montreal. Montreal's winning streak has reached 10 games.

With Montreal leading 1-0 in the bottom of the second, Nieves hit a 2-run single off Wichita hurler Danny Gomez. It was the 218th hit of the season for Nieves and put his team ahead, 3-0.
