Eggert Helps Aigles Run Win Streak to 4
|
The Trois-Rivieres Aigles thumped the Schaumburg Boomers, 9-0, at Ballpark of Ecatepec College. Matt Eggert was a big reason his team got the win. Eggert was 3-4 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 5. Ryan Malone earned the win for Trois-Rivieres. He lasted 5 innings, allowing no earned runs on 1 hit, while striking out 6. With the win, he raised his record to 2-0. Jorge Davila got credit for the save for Trois-Rivieres. It was his 1st of the year.
In the bottom of the first, Phil Schropp hit a run-scoring single for Trois-Rivieres. The 14th hit of the season for the Trois-Rivieres first baseman put the Aigles on top, 1-0.
"This is not a one-man show," said Eggert. "A lot of the guys stepped up."
Schaumburg has now lost 4 consecutive games.
