Multi-HR Game for Eggert in 6-3 Win
|
Trois-Rivieres third baseman Matt Eggert made his presence felt in the 6-3 Aigles triumph over the Schaumburg Boomers. Eggert went 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Josh Showalter picked up the win with 5 innings of work. He allowed 1 earned run on 3 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 6. On the season, he is now 1-1. Joe Darlage earned the save, his 4th.
With Trois-Rivieres leading 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth, Eggert hit a fastball from D.J. Coble for a 2-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Aigles ahead, 4-1.
"We're just going to try to build off this win," said Eggert.
The Aigles, at 11-7, lead by one game in their division.
