Normal Hands Oconto Falls 9-4 Defeat
|
The Normal Nutcrackers topped the Oconto Falls Timbers, 9-4, at The Cove. Normal second baseman Jose Sanchez was a spark plug for the offense. He went 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs. The win was credited to Geoff Kness in relief. His record improves to 3-1. Luis Lopez took the loss. With the win, the Nutcrackers hiked their record to 80-67.
Oscar Santelices helped out the Normal cause in the top of the seventh inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the shortstop was 1-3 with 2 walks.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Santelices told the Normal Daily.
