Nutcrackers Rally Late to Clip Oconto Falls
The Normal Nutcrackers scooted past the Oconto Falls Timbers, 2-1, at The Cove. Normal pitcher Danny Carabello, in particular, performed like a star. The winner in relief was Dave Tejeda. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. He now owns a record of 1-1. Mario Abundis finished to wrap up his 24th save.

Joel Gonzales came through with a big-time hit for Normal. The pinch hitter smacked a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 2-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"Good team win," Gonzales said. "I love it when a plan comes together."

At 79-67, the Nutcrackers claim 4th place in the TML R Fred McGriff Division.
