Miners Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Wild Things
Behind a solid performance from right fielder Larry Ware, the Sussex County Miners defeated the Washington Wild Things, 10-5. Ware was 2 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 5 for the Miners. The winner was Sussex County reliever Chris Hunt, now 2-0. The loser was Cortez Jasso. The win leaves Sussex County with a record of 5-4.

An important at-bat for Sussex County came with one out in the top of the eighth. With the bases loaded, Ware hit a grand slam, which contributed to the Miners win.
