Almost There: Montreal On Cusp of ABL Championship Triumph After 5-2 Win
|
Riding the 2-hit performance of designated hitter Chris Romanko, the Montreal Mounties stopped the visiting Houghton Gremlins, 5-2, in Game 4 of the ABL Championship. Romanko slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for the Mounties, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 3 games to 1.
With the game tied, 2-2, in the bottom of the fifth, Romanko had a key at-bat for Montreal. With a runner on 3rd, Romanko hit a 2-run home run off Trace Yeadon, making the score 4-2, Mounties.
"We're happy," Romanko told reporters after the win. "When you're in the playoffs, you've got to treat every game like it could be your last."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Mount Royal Grounds in Montreal.
