One for the Ages: Warriors Beat Hornets on 14th Inning Walk-Off
|
The Walnut Creek Warriors and the Eureka Hornets will take the ABL Championship to a decisive 7th game. Facing a must-win situation at Castlerock Field, the Warriors beat the Hornets, 9-7, on a walk-off in extra innings to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Walnut Creek right fielder Travis Hudak was 3-6 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 3.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 14th. With two out, Hudak hit a fastball from Eric Kimbrough for a 2-run home run. The Warriors, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"It feels a lot better to be tied than to be behind, even if it is only one game," Walnut Creek manager Miguel de la Rosa said.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Castlerock Field in Walnut Creek.
