Raucous Golden Goebels Park Crowd Propels Gremlins to 4-1 Victory; Series Tied at 1

Leave it to the veteran.
The Houghton Gremlins got a great start from 40-year-old right-hander Owen Stegemann, as Houghton won the contest, 4-1, at Golden Goebels Park. Stegemann threw 5.2 innings allowing 1 run in the win, which knotted the best-of-7 series at 1-1.
Geoff Raines, who finished 2nd in the RCL in on-base percentage with .405 last year, chipped in a solo home run for Houghton in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the third baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 RBI.
Stegemann told a Houghton Bulletin reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
Game 3 is scheduled for Tuesday at Mount Royal Grounds in Montreal.
