Orange Sox 7-4 Winners Versus Caribbean
|
The Syracuse Orange Sox took on the Caribbean Commies at Castro Field.
Herb Craig did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Caribbean Commies from being beaten, 7-4, to the Syracuse Orange Sox at Castro Field. Craig was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Willie Salazar, who is tied for 4th in the RR in saves with 14, earned the save for Syracuse.
Syracuse used the hitting of Miguel Cruz to pick up the win. The designated hitter clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Orange Sox on top, 4-0. For the game, Cruz had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Cruz said after the game.
The Orange Sox raised their record to 89-55.
