Almost There: Houghton On Cusp of R3 Triumph After 10-3 Win
The Houghton Gremlins moved to within one game of the ABL Championship, downing the visiting Walnut Creek Warriors at Golden Goebels Park by a score of 10-3. Gremlins left fielder Tim Alessio did some major damage. He went 5-5 with a home run, 2 doubles, and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The win gives the Gremlins a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 League Pennant.

A key moment came with two out in the bottom of the third. That's when Alessio hit a curveball from John Driscoll for a run-scoring double, putting Houghton up, 4-2.

"It feels good to get this one," Alessio told the Houghton Times.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Golden Goebels Park in Houghton.
