Barbados Absorbs 4-1 Loss to Frobisher Bay
|
Jeffrey Banfield pitched well, but his team, the Barbados Revenge, still dropped a 4-1 decision to the Frobisher Bay Caribou at Pittodrie Stadium. Owen Caddell picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 5-3. Jeffrey Banfield was tagged with the loss. Alex Rios, who is tied for 8th in the RR in saves with 9, nailed down the save.
The Revenge had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Caribou going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 20-year old second baseman Nick Vasquez came to the plate. Vasquez hit a run-scoring double on a 1-0 fastball from Barbados hurler Jeffrey Banfield. It was Vasquez's 19th double of the year.
"We put together a nice win," Vasquez said.
At 93-51, Frobisher Bay is in second place in the RCL R John Mayberry Division.
