Aigles Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Jackels
|
Fans who came to Baltimore College Grounds watched the Trois-Rivieres Aigles and the New Jersey Jackels fight to the finish.
The New Jersey Jackels got a sterling performance from pitcher D.J. Fisher, but the Aigles still prevailed, 5-4. Fisher was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 5 innings of shutout ball. The win was Mike Costa's in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Robby Peterson took the loss for New Jersey.
It could have been a different outcome for Trois-Rivieres, had it not been for Kevin Dees, the 21-year old right fielder . Dees contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put Trois-Rivieres up, 5-4.
"Both teams played hard," said Trois-Rivieres manager Sean Laster.
The Aigles raised their record to 5-0.
