Niagara Falls Wins at Home to Take 2-1 Lead in R1

Their bats were silent and Niagara Falls had a rookie on the mound. No problem.
On a day when the Pipe Fitters struggled to string together much offense, the club got a big boost from 22-year-old starter Jim Wallace. The right-hander quieted the Wauwatosa Indians at Pipe Fitters Park to help Niagara Falls take the 3-2 decision and seize a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-7 Double A League Championship.
Right Fielder Larry Stagg made an impact for Niagara Falls, when he swatted a 2-run home run off Josh Macro in the bottom of the fourth. For the contest, Stagg was 1 for 2 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"We need better swings, better at-bats," said losing manager Matunde Kabaila.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Pipe Fitters Park in Niagara Falls.
