The Okanagan Lake Monsters moved to within one game of the Single A World Series, downing the visiting Memphis Blues at Elks Stadium by a score of 10-3. Lake Monsters shortstop Fred Mitchell did some major damage. He went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. The win gives the Lake Monsters a 3-0 advantage in the best-of-7 Single A League Championship.

Steven Coulter, who is rated as the 64th best prospect by BNN, chipped in a 2-run home run for Okanagan in the bottom of the third. For the game, the second baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 2 runs batted in.

Mitchell said afterward that his team has grown over the course of the season, adding: "It feels good when a plan comes together."
