Asheville Rallies to 5-3 Win
The Asheville Moonshiners topped the Bloomington Blazers, 5-3, with youngster Jimmy Knauff playing a key role. Knauff went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Moonshiners in the win. Jim Ketring snagged the win in relief. He goes to 4-3 on the season. Justin Price suffered the loss. Steven Shiplack, who finished 3rd in the RCL in saves with 35 in 2059, nailed down the save.

Paul Heley, who led the TML in triples with 12 in 2054, helped out the Asheville cause in the bottom of the seventh inning with a run-scoring triple. For the game, the pinch hitter was 1 for 1 with a triple.

"Win or lose, we always try to grind it out and stay even-keeled," Knauff said in reaction to the win.

Asheville is now 41-45, Bloomington 35-49.
