Brooklyn pitcher Francisco Villanueva did his part in helping his team beat the Frobisher Bay Caribou, 2-0. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. The winner was Villanueva. He threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Marco Trujillo. Joe Bauer earned his 15th save in 15 tries.
The Cyclones had to work out of trouble in the top of the ninth. The score was 2-0, Brooklyn, with one out. Frobisher Bay, with runners on 1st and 2nd, was mounting a threat. Oscar Olivo dug in at the plate, but on a 1-1 fastball, he hit into a double play.
