The Jacksonville Pilots defeated the Buffalo Bison, 26-10, in Game 1 of the Divisional Series. A big contributor was third baseman John Popper, who went 5 for 6 with a home run, 2 doubles, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 5 runs and drove in 5. The win moves Jacksonville into a 1-0 lead in the series.

A key moment came with two out in the top of the second. That's when Popper hit a cutter from Chris Courtney for a 3-run home run, putting Jacksonville up, 5-0.

Bison manager Jon Green did not take questions after the game, telling assembled reporters that he would hold a press conference "if and when we win the ABL Championship."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Thundering Grounds at Bison Stadium in Buffalo.
