The Coronado Islanders easily defeated the Sedona Sabercats, 13-2, at Barack H. Obama Park, with designated hitter Masayoshi Kamimura a main contributor to the win. He was 4-5 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2 for Coronado. Juan Rubio was the winner. He's now 2-2. The loser was 20-year old left-handed pitcher Tatsui Kishimoto. The third-place Islanders are 76-63.

In the bottom of the third, Coronado second baseman Roy Martin had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and two out, Martin stroked a run-scoring single to right. It made the score 3-1, Coronado. For the game, he was 1-3 with 2 walks and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.

"It's not about individual awards," Kamimura told a Coronado Citizen reporter after the game. "It's about winning championships. That's what we play for."
