The winning streak continued for Thunder Bay.
Thunder Bay starter Chad Mansur kept the Barbados hitters in check, helping his team cruise to a win, 10-2. Mansur, now 4-0, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 8, walking 0, and allowing 1 run.
Jose Quinones had a big run-scoring triple for the Lighting in the bottom of the first inning. With Thunder Bay leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from 18-year old left-handed pitcher Jeffrey Banfield and swatted a triple to left-center. It was his 8th triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Lighting ahead, 2-0.
"It was full throttle on our side," said Quinones.
Thunder Bay has run its win streak to 8 consecutive.
