Almost There: Moose Jaw On Cusp of R1 Triumph After 7-2 Win
The Moose Jaw Canucks moved to within one game of the Double A World Series, downing the visiting Silicon Valley Hackers at Ashton Gate by a score of 7-2. Canucks right-hander Ian Baer had a strong outing in which he threw 7.2 innings allowing 2 runs. The win gives the Canucks a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 Double A League Championship.

Nate Mitchell came through for Moose Jaw when he hit a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fourth. With the bases loaded, he hit a two-strike fastball to left-center field, staking his team to a 1-0 lead.

"It's a mindset," said Baer. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Ashton Gate in Moose Jaw.
